4G Strategy: MRO (Mobility Robustness Optimization)


Fact Finding:
Due to the more easy HO triggered parameter configuration, slow speed UE locating HO area will generate ping pong handover.

Pro :
 To reduce PingPongHo number.
Cons :
Almost no impact
Background:
ØPing Pong UE Identification:
consecutive ping pong handover between source cell and target  cell occurs and the consecutive ping pong HO times are great than UePingPongNumThd  and average staying time in ping pong target cell is less than PingpongTimeThd
ØAutomatically perform handover parameter (CIO-1/CIO-2) to avoid PingPongho, No impact to normal subscriber.
Analysis:
MRO is used for self-optimization in an SON. MRO collects handover performance statistics for different scenarios, identifies abnormal handover scenarios, and optimizes the handover-related parameter settings.
